The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 10-1 on Monday night in Game 3 of the World Series. The victory gives the Brewers an insurmountable 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Milwaukee has now won seven consecutive games in the National League Championship Series and the World Series.

Jackson Chourio, the Brewers' second baseman, drove the offense with four hits, two runs, and one run batted in. He led off the game with a line drive single and recorded singles in his next two at-bats. In the fifth inning, he hit a double that initiated an eight-run rally for Milwaukee. The Rays scored only one run in the ninth inning, which came on two hits when the outcome was already decided.

Chourio is 22 years old. He became the youngest player to record a four-hit game in the World Series since Joe Garagiola in 1946. He is batting .571 in the World Series, with eight hits in 14 at-bats. He has also hit two home runs and stolen three bases in the postseason.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy praised Chourio's development and discipline. Murphy compared Chourio's work ethic to that of Kobe Bryant. He noted that Chourio has shown improvement in his defense and speed, including a stolen base on Monday.

The Brewers' pitching staff limited the Rays to three hits and one run over eight innings. Robert Gasser started the game. The Rays had scored four runs in the first inning of Game 2 but have not scored since then in that game or in Game 3.

Chourio played in 127 games this season due to injuries. He posted 4.9 wins above replacement and achieved the 20-20 milestone in home runs and stolen bases. He is signed with the Brewers through the 2031 season, with two additional club options that extend his contract through 2033.

The Brewers can reach 8-0 in the postseason for the first time in Major League Baseball history if they win Game 4. The only previous team to sweep both the NLCS and the World Series was the 1976 Cincinnati Reds, though that series was a best-of-five in the NLCS.
