Heidi Klum Marks 25th Anniversary of Her Halloween Gala With Giant Hand Costume

Heidi Klum appeared as a massive, severed hand at her annual Halloween party in New York on Saturday.

The event marked the 25th year of the gathering, which has become a notable fixture in the fashion and entertainment calendar. Klum described the look as her own left hand, featuring long red nails, a thumb ring, and her engagement and wedding bands. The costume included a tattoo of her husband Tom Kaulitz's name on the ring finger, along with detailed palm lines and veins. Only her eyes and mouth were visible, with blood dripping from her lips.

Klum stated that the concept originated last year when she considered how her body might fit inside the shape of her hand. She noted that while the application process took five to six hours on the day of the event, the creation of the prosthetic took considerably longer. She shared updates on her Instagram earlier in the day, showing the bloodied makeup being applied. Klum said the heaviest aspect of the role was carrying the costume, which she described as quite heavy.

The supermodel and television personality has hosted the party since 2001. Previous iterations have included costumes of the Greek mythological figure Medusa, a peacock, an eight-foot tall Transformer, a werewolf from the Michael Jackson music video Thriller, a clone surrounded by lookalikes, and Kali, the Hindu goddess of death. In 2022, she arrived at the venue on a fishing line while encased in a worm costume.

Kaulitz did not attend this year's event due to his touring schedule. Klum said a little bit of him is with her through the costume details. The party continues as a private gathering for the 25th anniversary of the tradition.
