Marion County concluded its early voting period on Saturday. The county provided nine locations for residents to cast ballots over a ten-day span leading up to the general election.
Voters had the flexibility to choose any of the nine sites rather than being restricted to a specific area. The locations included the Supervisor of Elections Center in Ocala, public libraries in Belleview and Dunnellon, and community centers in Reddick and Silver Springs Shores.
Abigail Jackson, a local voter, said she preferred to vote early to avoid last-minute delays. “I wanted to make sure that I’d be early rather than late. It’s important to not procrastinate,” Jackson said. She expressed hope that her vote would make a difference.
Annelise Gomez brought her daughter to vote, describing the experience as a lesson in civic duty. “I am teaching my daughter here the importance of voting, the importance of selecting leaders who will represent everybody,” Gomez said. She noted the value of inclusion and diversity in the process.
Residents who did not vote during the early period must cast their ballots in person on Tuesday. Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Voters must go to their assigned precinct on Election Day.
