Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell visited linebacker Jack Campbell at the hospital on Sunday night and shared an encouraging update on Monday. Campbell spoke with the linebacker's parents and wife during his visit to Ford Field's medical facility. The team did not release specific medical details regarding the injury, but the family reportedly remains in good spirits and focused on recovery.

Jack Campbell was hurt during the second half of the Lions' 19-15 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. He suffered the injury after tackling former Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson. The linebacker remained on the turf for several minutes before medical staff removed him on a board. He was transported to the hospital for evaluation and stayed there as of Monday night.

Campbell described the situation as a small setback but emphasized the positive outlook within the family. He noted that Jack is a dependable player who gives everything to his teammates. "He is dependable. You know, he gives you the shirt off his back," Campbell said. "He's just all heart, man, all effort."

The head coach said the injury was difficult for the roster to witness because Jack Campbell rarely stays on the field after a play. Players and coaches were concerned when he remained on the ground. Campbell added that the team regrouped and overcame the adversity to secure the win against the previously unbeaten Vikings. "It's difficult, you know, it is difficult," Campbell said. "You don't ever want to see somebody like that on the field."

Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell also checked on Campbell following the incident. Members of the Minnesota organization offered prayers and expressed concern for the Lions linebacker. Campbell praised the gesture, noting that the league operates as a brotherhood despite the competition. "This league is highly competitive, but it is a brotherhood," Campbell said. He said the moment reminded everyone that players and coaches have families and lives beyond football.

The Lions stated that the update is positive as Jack Campbell continues his recovery. The team will continue to monitor his condition without releasing further medical specifics at this time.
