The Chicago Blackhawks introduced their new green Hometown Remix jerseys on Monday during a game against the Colorado Avalanche.
The uniform features a color scheme derived from the green feather in the team's primary logo. Shoulders display the alternate crossed C logo. The design closely resembles the specialty jerseys the team previously wore for St. Patrick's Day events.
The National Hockey League banned specialty warmup jerseys in 2023. That rule change meant the previous green designs were retired. Fans often wore those older shirts at the United Center. The new Hometown Remix collection was released by Fanatics for all 32 NHL teams.
Critics noted that other franchises released more distinctive alternate looks this season. The Florida Panthers debuted a pink jersey inspired by the television show Miami Vice. The Anaheim Ducks released a green, purple, and yellow design referencing the 1992 film Mighty Ducks. The Los Angeles Kings and Boston Bruins also introduced new purple and brown options, respectively.
Observers pointed out that the Blackhawks' green kit looks similar to the regular home jerseys of the Dallas Stars. Some fans also noted that the team has released multiple new uniforms recently. The Hawks wore red Centennial jerseys last season. They debuted new black throwback jerseys in November 2025 that remain in active use.
The new green jersey includes minor changes from the previous St. Patrick's Day versions. The secondary color is tan rather than white. The collar is black with tan laces. Four stars, similar to those on the Chicago flag, are embossed on the sleeve stripes. Players also wore brownish-tan gloves during the debut.
The team is scheduled to wear the green jerseys again on December 29 against the Vegas Golden Knights. They will also wear them four times between March 8 and March 16. The Blackhawks typically reserve their black alternate jerseys for Friday home games.
