USC recorded the lowest point total for a Lincoln Riley-coached team last week, scoring just seven points in a loss to Wisconsin. That statistical low was erased on Saturday night when the Trojans defeated Ohio State in the most impressive win of Riley's tenure. The result marked a sharp contrast to the previous seven days for the Los Angeles program.

Ohio State became the fourth consecutive AP top-2 team to fall to an unranked opponent. Quarterback Luke Fahey was not the primary factor in the defeat, as the game's outcome hinged on other elements. The Buckeyes' loss continued a trend of upsets at the top of the national rankings.

Miami retained the No. 1 ranking after winning at North Carolina despite trailing in the fourth quarter. The Hurricanes have allowed eight passing touchdowns in their last two games against Florida State and North Carolina. This week presents a critical test as they travel to South Bend to face Notre Dame, a team seeking revenge for the previous season's matchup.

Georgia defeated Florida 27-8 in Atlanta, forcing four turnovers and limiting the Gators to 54 rushing yards. Quarterback Gunner Stockton completed 13 of 23 passes for 101 yards, a performance that left the offense conservative after building a 24-0 lead at halftime. The Bulldogs will face Ole Miss in an SEC showdown next.

UCLA and Utah demonstrated defensive stability to claim the third and fourth spots. UCLA forced four more turnovers against Nevada, bringing their season total to 26, which ties them with New Mexico for the most in the country. Utah dominated Cincinnati 49-25, with quarterback Devon Dampier throwing for 260 yards and three touchdowns.

Indiana won its second consecutive overtime game through a 60-yard field goal by Paddy McAteer. Backup quarterback Grant Wilson found Charlie Becker for a 25-yard score in the extra period. The Hoosiers outgained Minnesota 419-215 but faced field goal issues until late in the contest.

Kentucky sits at 7-1 and leads the SEC standings under first-year coach Will Stein. The Wildcats are on a challenging schedule that includes road games at Tennessee and Missouri. A victory over the Vols would provide a cushion for playoff positioning.

Wake Forest won 51-7 against Virginia, extending a streak where the Demon Deacons have outscored opponents 187-31 over the past four games. Quarterback Gio Lopez threw for 221 yards and a touchdown before leaving with a knee injury. The team scored 50 points in two ACC games for the first time since 2018.

Texas defeated Mississippi State 31-3, relying on a defense that allowed only 280 total yards. Arch Manning was sacked six times but threw for 220 yards and three touchdowns. The Longhorns now face a road slate that includes trips to Missouri and LSU.
