Southeast Wisconsin voters faced dry conditions and mild temperatures on Tuesday, with afternoon highs approaching 70 degrees. After showers persisted from Monday night into the early hours of Tuesday, the region remained dry until approximately 6 a.m.
The dry spell continued through lunchtime, providing a clear window for voting before scattered showers returned in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures held steady in the 60s for the majority of the day, maintaining mild conditions as polls closed.
Forecasters expect additional scattered showers to persist through Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday offers the best chance for dry time in the afternoon, while Thursday may see light showers throughout the day.
Total rainfall from Tuesday through Thursday is projected to reach around half an inch across most of southeast Wisconsin. Some localized areas could accumulate up to an inch of rain by Thursday night.
Wind conditions remained a factor on Election Day, with gusts from the south reaching 30 mph on Tuesday. A southwesterly wind between 10 and 20 mph is expected to continue through both Wednesday and Thursday.
The weather pattern allows for intermittent voting periods, with the most favorable conditions occurring between 6 a.m. and noon Tuesday.
