Cleveland-area residents can attend five distinct Halloween events this weekend, ranging from free food truck gatherings to paid musical performances and aquarium tours. The activities span three major venues in Cleveland and Canton, offering options for families, music fans, and horror enthusiasts.

The Listeso String Quartet performs a haunted evening at the Maltz Performing Arts Center on Friday at 8:30 p.m. The group plays themes from horror films alongside classical works like Saint-Saëns’ “Danse Macabre.” The stage is surrounded by thousands of flameless LED candles to create a specific atmosphere for the audience.

In Canton, the Stark County Fairgrounds hosts a free event called Feast of Ghouls on Saturday from 12 to 8 p.m. Several dozen food trucks serve lunch and dinner during the event. Kids receive free candy, and vendors sell Halloween-themed items in a dedicated market. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes for a contest.

The Greater Cleveland Aquarium holds an after-hours event called Pumpkins and Piranhas on Friday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The event allows children to see piranhas and other tropical fish in a safe environment. Sharks also surround the aquarium sea tube during the visit. The last admission time is 7 p.m.

The Canton Symphony Orchestra and the Players Guild of Canton present “Jekyll & Hyde” on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. The musical adapts Robert Louis Stevenson’s 1880s novella about a doctor and his alter ego. Performances take place at the Zimmermann Symphony Center and Umstattd Performing Arts Hall.

Musicians Jeremy McCabe and Max Schlenk perform a tribute to Frank Zappa at the BOP STOP in Cleveland’s Hingetown on Saturday at 8 p.m. The show, titled “Schlenk Zappa,” marks the 60th anniversary of The Mothers of Invention’s debut album “Freak Out!.” Zappa died more than three decades ago, but his work remains popular with local artists.
